Financial Services Guide (FSG)

Given our extensive authorisations under our AFSL, we thought it was appropriate to further expand on the products and services that Openmarkets may offer.

This expansion in products and services includes:

  • Arranging for your intermediary to provide you with access to international transactions with an international broker.
  • Providing nominee services for retail custody trading services provided by our intermediaries to you.
  • Providing technology services, relating to (among other things) API market infrastructure.
  • Providing financial advice services from advice professionals that are authorised representatives of Openmarkets (if any), over and above any general advice that Openmarkets may provide from time to time.

Client agreement

We wanted to make this document more user-friendly, so have provided a more ‘modular’ version of the document on substantially similar terms.

There are also some typographical and grammatical updates, as well as more substantive updates as follows:

  • Part A – General terms and conditions. These apply to you when you engage in any form with Openmarkets through any of the services provided under our financial services guide. Note, these terms and conditions are substantially the same as the prior client agreement.
  • Part B – Equities terms and conditions. If you’re opening a trading account with Openmarkets for the provision of execution, clearing and settlement services, then these terms and conditions apply and within this section includes special product terms (e.g. warrants and partly paid securities), usage of a direct market access service, etc.
  • Part C – CHESS sponsorship agreement. This is the agreement with Openmarkets to facilitate the buying and selling of Financial Products from your trading account through our services provided to you, noting (i) modification to clause C2(c) for further clarity in relation to the ASX Settlement Operating Rules; and (ii) inclusion of new clause C10(b).
  • Part E – Nominee Terms. These are new to the client agreement and apply if you are receiving custodial services for your financial products from Openmarkets Nominees.
  • Part F – International Securities terms and conditions. These are new to the client agreement and are additional requirements of the client to complete in order to establish a trading account with the international broker.
