Melbourne, VIC – OpenMarkets Australia Limited, Australia’s fastest growing technology stockbroker, today announced that robo-advice platform Six Park has become the latest player in the category to integrate with its trading systems.

Six Park platformThe move allows Six Park to link its proprietary systems to OpenMarkets Trading API (Application Programming Interface) and take advantage of its low brokerage fees, allowing it to fulfil its mission of providing low-cost independent investment services to ordinary investors.

Launched earlier in May this year, Six Park is leading the next wave of robo-advisers in Australia and is backed by an impressive investment team including former federal finance minister Lindsay Tanner, two founding members of the Future Fund, Paul Costello and Brian Watson, and former vice-president at JP Morgan, Patrick Garrett.

Six Park CEO Patrick Garret said, Six Park was established to democratise investing for the modern investor. We chose to partner with OpenMarkets as they understood our business, had the technology in place and their brokerage costs were extremely competitive. We have developed a great partnership with OpenMarkets.

OpenMarkets CEO Rick Klink said, Six Park are meeting a growing market demand for modern investment solutions and we are pleased to welcome such a high calibre team to our trading network.

As a fintech stockbroker, our mission is to help support and foster innovation in our industry. By empowering firms like Six Park, we’re helping provide an eco-system for the next generation investor or adviser who are increasingly turning to modern investing solutions.

The integration with OpenMarkets API provides Six Park the ability to seamlessly execute the computer-generated trades directly from its own system with order confirmation, holding and transaction data sent back from OpenMarkets in real time. The result allows for a seamless automated experience for the user, while providing Six Park the scale and efficiencies it needs to offer its service wide scale.

With the growth of Fintechs and rise of the digital adviser, OpenMarkets secure and open API services have increasingly been in demand. It offers access to a complete brokerage solution that bundles trading, brokerage, operations, clearing, settlement and real-time data, helping innovative companies like Six Park the opportunity to thrive.

Klink says, API integration is the way of the future. Today is all about collaboration of systems and services, to create better experiences and new conveniences for people and business.

Although most online brokers have an in-house API, not all are open for integration like OpenMarkets, a point of differentiation that supports the company’s position as the broker for fintechs.

About Six Park

Six Park is an automated investment and execution platform that combines the power of sophisticated technology with a world class Advisory Board,to provide an automated investment service to the Australian market, at low costs.

When Brian Watson and Patrick Garrett decided to start Six Park, the reason was simple: People were fed up with the traditional investment advice model. They were paying too much, time poor, confused about investing and didn’t believe their best interests were being looked after. There was a demand for a high quality, low cost investment advice service in Australia.

How it works

After an in-depth online risk assessment, the Six Park service will determine what type of investor you are and automatically invest your money into a diversified portfolio of ETFs (Australian equities, international equities, emerging markets, property, fixed income and cash).

These models are actively managed and reviewed by the Six Park advisory board which includes former Federal Finance Minister Lindsay Tanner, former Future Fund head Paul Costello and former JP Morgan chairman Brian Watson, to steer their long-term investing strategy.

If and when the models change, or a rebalance is triggered, the platform will also automatically place the necessary trades providing the investor assurance their portfolio is being taken care of at all times.

Its high profile team helps address one of the main challenges that robo advisors face in the market: gaining the trust of investors to place their funds on an automated platform.

Minimum investment amount: AUD$10,000. Best suited to: Medium to longer term investors
